In an effort to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, to care for the most vulnerable members of our population, and to love our neighbors as ourselves, the elders unanimously voted on Aug. 9 to make the following changes to our safety protocols:
Masks will once again be required for worship and all indoor gatherings as long as Jackson County is in the "red" (high) or "orange" (substantial) community transmission categories, regardless of vaccination status. When Jackson County moves to the "yellow" (moderate) or "blue" (low) categories, masks will then be optional. (You can click here to read more about these categories.) Should we change categories between Session meetings, then whatever was decided at the previous Session meeting will hold until the next meeting.
We continue to encourage social distancing and the use of our outdoor spaces as much as possible.
External groups may use our church facilities provided that they abide by these safety requirements.
Our online worship offering will continue to be available for those who prefer to join us in worship from home.
Our 80th Anniversary Celebration, originally scheduled for Sept. 26, has been postponed.
If you have any questions about these updates, do not hesitate to contact our Pastor or one of the elders. As always, we are so grateful for your grace, patience, and flexibility as we adapt to these ever-changing times. May the Lord bless us in our mission to make disciples who love Jesus Christ, love the church, and love their neighbors as themselves.
