A Service for the Lord’s Day
May 2, 2021
Fifth Sunday of Easter

Welcome & Announcements

Call to Worship — Psalms 92:1-4, 12-15

Leader: It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High; to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.

People: For you make us glad by your deeds, Lord; we sing for joy at what your hands have done.

Leader: The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.

People: They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is our Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Praise Him all creatures here below!
Praise Him above, ye heavenly hosts!
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Amen.

Affirmation of FaithThe Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper

Invitation to the Lord’s Table
Leader:  The Lord be with you!
Response:  And also with you.
Leader:  Lift up your hearts.
Response:  We lift them up to the Lord.
Leader:  Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
Response:  It is right to give our thanks and praise.

The Lord's Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
